London is a center for business, art, and opportunity. It also has been a center of colonization and has literally been at the center of many world maps. Because of this colonial history there are many diasporas that have congregated there. When I lived in London I was part of and amidst the African Diaspora in London. In The Centre Project I interviewed creatives living in London who are mainly from the African diaspora (also included some participants from Asian Diasporas) and also photographed many of the participants. The focus of the interviews were not only about London as a center. These interviews were redirected on what is at the center of these peoples lives, and what was important to them.
